Corporate Social Responsibility and the difference between CSRD explained

As an organization you have goals for your actions related to sustainability, besides your economic goals. Social rights, human rights and environmental rights are topics important to Erhard sport. These topics are part of our CSR. The difference between CSR and CSRD is that CSRD is written in law. The topics of CSRD are mandatory for all companies in Europe. Because of CSRD companies are required to rapport their impact on people and environment in their annual report. CSR is voluntary because companies themselves choose to go beyond what is required by law in terms of social and environmental responsibility.

So, to summarize: CSR are voluntary topics which a company themselves chooses to add besides the CSRD topics it should comply with by law. Let's take a look at our CSR topics!

We require our suppliers to have a 'no child labour' certificate.
We support the Sports for Children Foundation.
We are working to reduce energy, paper and water consumption.
We use FSC® and PEFC-certified wood in our products.

Sports For Children

Our products get a second life thanks to Sports For Children. The Sports For Children Foundation aims to make sports and exercise accessible to everyone, even in countries where the financial resources are not available to provide high-quality exercise equipment and sports products. The Sports for Children Foundation is committed to changing that. Via the ABEO Group, Erhard Sport supports this foundation.

When a gym is renovated, old equipment is collected. The skilled staff at Sports For Children get to work renovating these products. Transport is then organized to take the products to a school or sports club in another country that can make good use of them.

The design of many of our products makes renovation entirely possible. That is why refurbishment is a good solution for giving our products a second life in a new location. For products that unfortunately cannot be renovated, the Sports For Children Foundation still has a sustainable solution. In that case, we use the material for other products, such as special furniture and bags. You can view and order these creations in the Sports For Children webshop.

To keep our products performing safely over time, we also offer professional aftercare through our maintenance contracts. This ongoing support allows gyms, clubs, and institutions to maintain their equipment in top condition—providing long-lasting safety and reliability for every user.

Safe workplaces

Safety in the workplace is a top priority for our organization. We take extensive measures to ensure the safety of our employees. For example, we provide earplugs to minimize the risk of hearing damage from the use of loud machinery. The floors are also clearly marked to indicate the movement space for forklift drivers, which helps to ensure a safe walking route for other staff.

In our office area, our focus is on creating a healthy working environment. We invite an independent expert to inspect the workstations to receive advice on the optimal layout with chairs, adjustable tables, monitor risers and ergonomic mice. All things to keep our colleagues safe and healthy!
